Mediation

As a mediator specializing in ADA and disability rights, I foster effective communication and help to resolve conflicts in a fair and respectful manner.  This work involves guiding discussions between individuals, organizations, and institutions to address disputes related to accessibility, accommodations, and disability-related legal obligations.

Disabled and Deaf individuals can experience inadvertent discrimination in many ways, such as inaccessible websites, public spaces without proper accommodations, or workplace policies that unintentionally exclude them from full participation. Misunderstandings about reasonable accommodations or assumptions about a person's abilities can also lead to unequal treatment.

As a mediator, I create a neutral, supportive environment to help all parties identify these issues, explore solutions, and implement changes that meet both legal standards and individual needs. By ensuring the voices of Deaf people and other people with disabilities are heard and respected, I promote resolutions that are practical, compliant, and foster long-term understanding and inclusive relationships without the time and resource-draining process of hiring a lawyer and having to attend lengthy court hearings.
